We are part of the Physics and Astronomy Department at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. Our research focuses on X-ray studies of the remnants of supernova explosions, namely neutron stars, pulsar wind nebulae and supernova remnants. More details on these objects can be found here. Our X-ray observations are complemented with observations at other wavelengths, particularly in the radio regime. We have also recently started a program to model these objects through numerical simulations and code development driven by the high-energy and radio observations. Our simulations make use of the local CFI-funded cluster “nuit” located in the department of Physics and Astronomy and on the supercomputer “Grex” located on campus and which is part of the Compute Canada/Westgrid inititative.
